    Cedar Rapids, Iowa – August 26, 2020 – As part of its ongoing work to repair damage caused by the recent derecho, ITC Midwest will conduct aerial patrols of high-voltage electric transmission structures and lines from approximately August 26 – September 11, weather permitting.     ITC Midwest Supports Pandemic Response with Second Round of Disaster Relief Funding

    Cedar Rapids, Iowa (June 16, 2020) – As the nation rallies to support the fight against the pandemic, ITC Midwest has committed $175,000 in disaster relief funding to support agencies in need throughout its footprint in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin. In the first round of funding distributed in April, ITC Midwest supported 34 food charities. The company will follow-up in June with a second round of contributions designated for 23 mental health and substance abuse service agencies.

    ITC Midwest and Dairyland Power Cooperative receive Iowa Utilities Board approval for Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line Project

    Des Moines, Iowa (May 27, 2020) – Following years of public involvement and regulatory review, ITC Midwest and Dairyland Power Cooperative have received approval for the Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line Project from the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB). In a written decision, the three IUB members unanimously approved the franchise for the 14-mile Iowa transmission line segment, which will be constructed from the Hickory Creek substation near New Vienna in Dubuque County northward to Clayton County, and then cross the Mississippi River near Cassville, Wisconsin.

As a 110-mile segment of Multi-Value Project (MVP) 3, the 345,000 volt (345 kV) transmission line connects ITC Midwest’s Lakefield Junction and Huntley substations in southern Minnesota, and the Ledyard switching substation and MidAmerican Energy’s Kossuth County substation, in northern Iowa.
