ITCTransmission will build a new 345 kV switching station and two 345 kV feeds to support a customer request from DTE Energy to provide power to a new 1 GW data center in Van Buren Township, Michigan, called Project Cannoli.
The new 345 kV feeds will connect ITC’s existing Brownstown – Wayne #1 and Brownstown – Wayne #2 345 kV lines to the proposed Cannoli switching station.
The first 345 kV feed is scheduled to be in-service late 2027, and the second 345 kV feed is scheduled to be in-service late 2028. Switching station construction will begin Q1 2028 and scheduled to be completed Q3 2028.
