ITC Midwest Provides Recreational Electric Wheelchairs to Iowa Veterans

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (June 29, 2026) – ITC Midwest presented recreational electric wheelchairs to two Iowa veterans—Marshall Dorman of Harcourt and Justin Wolfe of Dawson—whose quality of life will be enhanced through the increased mobility these units provide. The presentation was made during the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America (IPVA) annual trap shooting tournament held at the Otter Creek Sportsman’s Club in Cedar Rapids.

For several years, ITC Midwest employees have come together for a summer charity golf outing to raise funds for the purchase of recreational electric wheelchairs in partnership with the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America (IPVA). Thanks to the generosity of ITC employees, along with a company match, the program has funded at least one wheelchair each year to support veterans.

This year, ITC Midwest presented an Action Track chair to IPVA member Marshall Dorman and a Zoom All-Terrain Wheelchair to IPVA member Justin Wolfe, based on their individual needs and preferences. Both units are valued at approximately $16,000. These donations mark the tenth and eleventh recreational electric wheelchairs awarded through the ITC Midwest program.

“ITC Midwest is committed to supporting nonprofits that directly improve the lives of people throughout our service area,” said ITC Midwest President Dusky Terry. “I’m incredibly proud of our employees for their continued support of this program in partnership with the Iowa PVA. It is truly making a life-changing difference for the veterans who receive these chairs.”

“We are sincerely grateful to everyone at ITC Midwest who contributed to providing recreational electric wheelchairs for disabled veterans in the Iowa Chapter,” said Bethany Gridley, Executive Director of Paralyzed Veterans of America – Iowa Chapter. “These chairs give veterans the freedom to experience activities that may not have been possible without this level of mobility and independence.”

First developed more than a decade ago, the Action Track chair is an all-terrain, tracked mobility device designed to provide access to rugged outdoor environments. The Zoom All-Terrain Wheelchair is an electric recreational unit that features four-wheel drive and speeds up to 12 miles per hour. Together, these innovative mobility solutions enable recipients to enjoy the outdoors, navigate diverse terrain, and participate in activities they may not have previously been able to experience.
