ITC Midwest Awards $5,000 Grant To Promote Conrad’s Growth

CONRAD, Iowa (May 19, 2025) — ITC Midwest has awarded a $5,000 Power of Connection grant to support the City of Conrad in their efforts to develop land recently purchased by the city. These funds will be used to cover a portion of the engineering fees associated with the project, which aims to enhance the community’s infrastructure and prepare for future commercial development.

The City of Conrad has purchased 93 acres of land east of the city’s boundaries and is in the process of annexing this land into the city limits. With new developments, whether residential or commercial, the city council is also preparing additional lots for potential new development. Currently, there is only one parcel left in the commercial zoning classification.

“This project is an investment in Conrad’s long-term economic growth,” said Lori Stansberry, City Administrator of Conrad. “By developing our infrastructure, we are creating new opportunities for local businesses and positioning Conrad as a thriving destination for commercial activity.”

The recently purchased land will provide a comprehensive framework for future economic development, ensuring that Conrad remains a vibrant and attractive community for residents and visitors alike.

“The Power of Connection grant provides assistance with soft costs that are instrumental in getting growth projects off the ground,” said ITC Midwest President Dusky Terry. “Contributing funds in this way fosters an opportunity to enhance the impact of economic development in Conrad for the benefit of the entire area.”

ITC Midwest Local Government and Community Affairs Manager Scott Arnold presents Conrad City Administrator Lori Stansberry a $5000 contribution to enhance development in the City of Conrad.
