ITC Midwest Awards $2,000 Grant Toward “Get Into Grinnell” Initiative
July 11, 2025 | ITC Midwest
GRINNELL, IOWA (July 11, 2025) — ITC Midwest has awarded a $2,000 Power of Connection grant to support the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce and the “Get Into Grinnell” initiative. These funds will be used to redesign an engaging website to make Grinnell a more attractive destination for visitors and a valuable resource for the local community.
After conducting several focus group sessions with community members to gather input on building community loyalty and improving the visitor experience, the Grinnell Chamber concluded that a complete overhaul of Grinnell’s website was needed to better reflect the town’s offerings and appeal to visitors. The website will feature upgraded listings for tourism-related businesses, including food and beverage, lodging and recreation/entertainment. It will provide information on community events, news, local guides, parks and recreation and more through an improved user interface that will be fully ADA compliant.
“This project is an investment in Grinnell’s long-term economic growth,” said Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rachael Kinnick. “By enhancing the digital presence, new opportunities will be created for local businesses, positioning Grinnell as a thriving destination for visitors.”
Additionally, the platform will allow effective reporting of analytics, providing local businesses and community partners with tools to reach existing and potential customers, maximizing the capacity of the local business community.
“The “Get Into Grinnell” initiative represents an opportunity to enhance the impact of tourism in Grinnell for the benefit of the entire community,” said ITC Midwest President Dusky Terry. “By contributing funds to enhance the chamber’s website, we are helping to create a comprehensive online resource that connects visitors with all local businesses, creating opportunities for future economic development for the Grinnell area.”
