ITC Great Plains Provides Grant For Host Home Program

HUGO, Okla. (Sept. 12, 2023) – ITC Great Plains is supporting youth through a $5,000 grant awarded to Goodland Academy.

Goodland Academy’s priority is to provide education and a stable environment for all children and adolescents in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. As part of their offerings, the Host Home Program offers a unique alternative to currently homeless youth.

“The Host Home Program provides housing for a short period of time while encouraging children to reestablish a relationship with a parent or guardian,” said Director of Development Randi Mitchell. “They are provided a safe place to lay their head, three meals and all other needs while at Goodland Academy.”

Through its grant programs, ITC Great Plains supports organizations that make a strong, positive social impact and improve the quality of life in the communities served by the company.

“Fostering an environment that supports youth aligns with our interests at ITC Great Plains,” said ITC Local Government and Community Affairs Regional Manager Kim Goodnight.  We’re pleased to support Goodland Academy, as our commitment to the communities we serve extends beyond providing reliable electric transmission service.”

Goodland Academy was founded in 1848 and continues to serve at-risk children, adolescents and families through their services. For more information visit WWW.GOODLAND.ORG.
