NOVI, Mich., (Dec. 2, 2025) – ITC Michigan, which builds, operates and maintains the high-voltage electric transmission grid in most of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, is lighting up 12 of its transmission structures with colorful decorations for the upcoming holiday season. In addition to last year’s structures, lights were added to four additional structures in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Ludington and Midland.
Each transmission structure is decorated with up to 250 feet of LED lighting, (nearly 20,000 LED lights), a star made up of 1,600 LED lights and a 10- by 14-foot Happy Holidays sign (13,000 LED lights). The festive lights will shine every evening from December 1 through Jan. 4, 2026.
“We love celebrating the holiday season with the communities we serve,” said Charles Marshall, president of ITC Michigan. “These lights have become a tradition that connects us with families and neighbors across the Lower Peninsula.”
