COMMUNITY COMMITMENT

ITC RECOGNIZED BY ARBOR DAY FOUNDATION, SUPPORTS STATEWIDE CELEBRATION

Communities from across Michigan gathered in Lansing this spring for the annual awards ceremony recognizing Tree City, Tree Campus and TreeLine USA program participants. ITC was honored with its 11th annual TreeLine USA certification. The program recognizes best practices in public and private utility arboriculture, demonstrating how trees and utilities can co-exist for the benefit of communities and citizens.

One of the core elements of the TREELINE USA program is the annual Arbor Day events. ITC was proud to support and take part in the Michigan Arbor Day Alliance State Arbor Day Celebration at Potter Park Zoo in Lansing. More than 1,000 students from throughout mid-Michigan gathered to learn more about water, soil, trees, wildlife, and how utility lines co-exist with nature.

ITC also supported Mayor Bliss’ Greening Initiative in Grand Rapids. Friends of Grand Rapids Parks organized the Arbor Day event to plant 300 trees in a west side neighborhood.

The ITC Charitable Giving Program

The ITC Charitable Giving Program focuses on five key areas to help strengthen our communities and reflect the values of ITC. Those include education, environmental stewardship, social services, health & wellness and arts & culture.
