ITC Midwest Engages with Iowa Business Leaders at ABI Conference
ITC Midwest representatives participated in the Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s (ABI) Taking Care of Business Conference, held June 2-4 in Coralville and Iowa City. The event gathered business and industry leaders from across the state to discuss economic development, leadership, innovation and other issues impacting Iowa’s business climate.
Cheri Monahan, Director of Customer and Business Solutions, Zak Kerr, Account Manager, and Brian Selinger, Manager of State Government Affairs represented ITC Midwest at the conference. They exchanged ideas with business, community and policy leaders while strengthening relationships that support investment and economic growth across Iowa.

ITC President and CEO Krista Tanner Joins Panel at CBJ Energy Symposium
ITC President and CEO Krista Tanner joined energy leaders in Cedar Rapids for the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ) Energy Symposium, which was co-sponsored by ITC Midwest. The event on June 23 focused on Iowa’s energy future and the restart of the Duane Arnold Energy Center, a nuclear facility in Linn County. The symposium also featured a conversation with U.S. Department of Energy Deputy Secretary James Danly.
During a panel discussion with other business and utility industry leaders, Krista emphasized the electric grid’s role in supporting rising demand and enabling economic growth. She reinforced the importance of ITC Midwest’s reliable and resilient transmission system, stressing that proactive investment supports long-term affordability.
Cheri Monahan Highlights Transmission Leadership at Iowa Conservative Energy Event
ITC Midwest sponsored and participated in the Iowa Conservative Energy Dialogue event in Cedar Rapids on June 24. The event brought together energy industry leaders, elected officials and stakeholders and included discussions on economic impacts, policies and emerging technologies shaping the clean energy landscape.
Cheri Monahan, Director of Customer and Business Solutions, joined leaders from QTS Data Centers and Alliant Energy for a panel on data center growth, emphasizing transmission’s critical role in economic development, reliability and affordability. She highlighted ITC Midwest’s projects that are increasing system capacity and enabling data center growth. Cheri also emphasized how ITC Midwest’s network transmission rate is projected to decrease by 20% by 2030, due to the significant load growth driven by data centers in the Cedar Rapids area. Panelists also discussed how utilities, regulators and developers can work together to manage growth and attract investment in Iowa.

Supporting Growth and Partnership at Grow Clinton Annual Meeting
ITC Midwest sponsored and attended the 2026 Grow Clinton Annual Meeting in Clinton on June 24. The event brought together business leaders, community partners and local stakeholders to celebrate the progress, partnerships and people driving the Clinton region forward. The meeting highlighted the accomplishments and growth achieved over the past year while recognizing individuals and organizations that continue to strengthen the region.
