ITC Holdings appoints policy, government issues attorney Richard D. McLellan to board

Novi, Mich., Nov. 29, 2007 - ITC Holdings Corp. (NYSE: ITC) has appointed Richard D. McLellan to its board of directors.

McLellan has extensive judiciary and corporate board experience and also spent 25 years as the director of the government policy department for the legal firm Dykema Gossett. McLellan retired from Dykema in April after 34 years in private practice.

During his career, McLellan served as treasurer and chairman of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Competitive Telecommunications Providers Association. He was recently named Chairman of the Board for the Council for Africa Infrastructure Development.

McLellan, who graduated from Michigan State University Honors College and the University of Michigan Law School, is an independent trustee of the JNL Series Trust, the variable annuity fund of Jackson National Life Insurance Co. Previously he served as a director of Manufacturers Life Insurance Company of Michigan, Crown America Life Insurance Company and Mercantile & General Life Reinsurance Company of America. He is a former director Michigan Information and Research Service Company of America.

McLellan is currently chairman of the Michigan Law Revision Commission, a position he has filled since 1986. He served two terms as a member of Board of Commissioners of the State Bar of Michigan by appointment of the Supreme Court. He is serving as Second Chair and a member of the Board of the Advocates Guild in the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society.

McLellan started his career as an administrative assistance to former Michigan Governor William G. Milliken and as director of the Michigan Office of Drug Abuse.

Following the 1990 Michigan elections, McLellan was named transition director to then Governor-elect John Engler. He was later appointed by Engler as chairman of the Corrections Commission, a member of the Michigan Export Development Authority, the Library of Michigan Board of trustees, the Michigan Jobs Commission, and the McPherson Commission on Charter Schools and as chairperson of the Michigan Film Advisory Commission.

In June, McLellan was named Special Counsel to the Chairman of the Michigan House Appropriations Committee. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Michigan State University College of Law and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Michigan State University James H. and Mary B. Quello Center for Telecommunications Management and Law. He teaches as an adjunct professor at Michigan State's Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Retailing.
