THE TRANSMISSION LINE

Killdeer-Hampton Tap Electric Transmission Project Nearing Completion

For nearly a year, crews have been hard at work building the new Killdeer-Hampton transmission line and we’re happy to report the 29-mile 345 kV line is complete and restoration efforts have begun. The line will strengthen the electric transmission system and contribute to more reliable electric service for the growing energy needs of Iowa and the surrounding region.

We recognize the transmission planning and construction process takes time and we are thankful for the patience and commitment of those from Franklin and Cerro Gordo Counties – especially landowners along the line route.

We strive to be good neighbors in the communities we serve. Just as our transmission lines remain in the community for many years, we maintain an ongoing commitment to working with residents, businesses and local leaders to foster long-lasting, mutual partnerships.
