As Michigan continues to transition to a cleaner portfolio of power generation resources, additional transmission capacity will be needed to promote the continued reliability of the bulk power system and support the interconnection of new generation resources. In the thumb region, more than 1,300 megawatts (MW) of wind generation is currently connected, or under construction to connect, to ITC's Thumb Loop Project

The J340 Generator Interconnection Project will connect the Apple Blossom Wind Farm, a new 100 MW facility under development in Huron County, to ITC's transmission system. View project profile.

The J308 Generator Interconnection Project will connect 150 MW of wind generation to a new ITC substation to be constructed in Sigel Twp. Construction is expected to begin in early 2017 and be completed in fall 2017. View project profile.

The J301 Generation Interconnection Project will connect 101 MW of wind generation to a new ITC substation to be constructed in Fairgrove Twp. Construction is expected to begin in early 2017 and be completed in fall 2017. View project profile.
