(NYSE: ITC) as a finalist in the "Rising Star Award," "Industry Leadership Award" and "Energy Transporter of the Year" categories of its 8th Annual Global Energy Awards. Established in 1999, the Global Energy Awards annually recognize outstanding achievement and vision in the global energy industry.

The Industry Leadership Award category is open to power companies worldwide. Judging criteria include range of activities, innovative skill, customer care, environmental care, safety and commercial success.

The Energy Transporter of the Year Award category, a new category this year, recognizes the companies that link resource extractors and users-by pipeline, ship, railroad, barge, high-voltage grid, or other means. Judging criteria include operational excellence, safety and environment and financial results.
