ITC is a critical link to the success of the electric customers that interconnect with our system. Since acquiring the ITC Midwest system in December 2007, ITC has invested more than $798 million in transmission system upgrades to improve electric reliability, reduce system congestion and facilitate the non-discriminatory interconnection of generators to the system, including renewable energy sources. Through our Partners in Business program, we work to keep our energy customers and partners informed and involved in ITC's work that benefits their own operations.
- Improve System Capacity
- ITC makes improvements that enable the transmission system to operate without constraint when other elements of the system are out of service. ITC's customer-focused power quality assessments ensure adequate transmission
- Operational Excellence
- ITC has earned national recognition for its best-in-class operations and efforts to safeguard the reliability of its high-voltage electrical system. We listen to your needs and work collaboratively to fix problems before they occur because we understand the impact to our customers' operations.
- Infrastructure Upgrades
- We invest in ongoing maintenance and necessary upgrades to replace aging, unreliable equipment with new, efficient technology.
Load Interconnections
New substations, generator interconnections and independent power producer requests. Within the ITC Midwest system, that includes significant interconnections of renewable resources, harnessing the energy and economic benefits of wind in Iowa and Minnesota.
