When a devastating flood struck Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in June 2008, ITC stepped forward with a $500,000 financial contribution to assist flood recovery. That included $275,000 earmarked for the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation 2008 Flood Fund. Those funds in turn provided grants to the Salvation Army to help purchase a new mobile food service canteen, to Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity to assist in home rebuilding, and the Czech Village New Bohemia Urban Main Street program, to help fund building façade improvements in the historic and flood-impacted region.
