    ITC Midwest LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITC Holdings Corp., the nation’s largest independent electricity transmission company. ITC Midwest operates more than 6,600 circuit miles of transmission lines in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri. The company is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and maintains operating locations at Dubuque, Iowa City and Perry, Iowa; and Albert Lea and Lakefield, Minnesota.

  • Multi-Value Projects (MVPs)

    MVPApproved by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) in December 2011, these 17 electric transmission projects across the upper Midwest will deliver significant reliability and economic benefits throughout the region. ITC Midwest is currently working on 345 kilovolt (kV) line segments that will help form two of those projects, Projects 3 and 4, in Iowa and Minnesota. ITC segments in Project 3 include the Minnesota-Iowa 345 kV Electric Transmission Project and the Huntley-Ledyard-Kossuth project. Segments in MVP 4 include the Colby-Killdeer and Hazleton-Black Hawk projects.

  • ITC Midwest Honored for Environmental Excellence

    ITC Midwest earned the Governor’s Iowa Environmental Excellence Award in recognition of the company’s habitat restoration efforts in its transmission corridors. The Governor’s Iowa Environmental Excellence Awards are the premier environmental honors in Iowa, recognizing leadership and innovation in the protection of Iowa’s natural resources. ITC Midwest’s habitat restoration efforts include targeting invasive species for removal, promoting the establishment of native short woody plants that are naturally compatible with required line clearances, and modifying vegetation management techniques to minimize impacts to rare species.

  • Jumping through hoops to close 'loop'

    ITC Midwest recently completed the 81-mile Salem-Hazleton 345 kV line in northeast Iowa. The Telegraph-Herald reviewed the line’s completion and steps along the process.

  • Repair Work to Close Section of Cedar Lake Trail

    To allow ITC Midwest contractors to make repairs to the Cedar Lake Trail, a portion of the trail will be closed beginning June 23. More information in the News section.

  • ITC Achieves Utility Status in Wisconsin

    The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin has approved ITC Holdings' application to become an authorized public utility holding company in the state. The Commission also approved ITC Midwest as a Wisconsin public utility. More information in the News section.

  • Summer Festivals

    ITC Midwest is pleased to sponsor a number of summer community festivals this summer, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Freedom Festival to the Freeborn County Fair in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
