SOUTH WINNESHIEK HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC BOOSTERS RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM ITC MIDWEST

CALMAR, Iowa – November 19, 2010 – The athletic teams of South Winneshiek High School will get a boost thanks to a contribution from ITC Midwest LLC. ITC Midwest, which owns and operates the electric transmission system in the region, contributed $1,000 to the South Winneshiek High School Athletic Booster Club.

The funds will help fund installation of new lights at the high school's football field. In turn, the retired football field lights will be donated to the Calmar Little League Association for installation at the little league diamond.

"We're grateful for this support from ITC and appreciate their partnership to help purchase the new field lights," said Chad Poshusta, Athletic Booster Club president.

ITC Midwest Field Supervisor Wayne Franzen said the company is pleased to support the school's investment, which will benefit the community, as well. "ITC invests in the electric grid to enhance electric reliability," Franzen said. "This is a nice way to help the community make an investment in its electric infrastructure that will benefit its youth, as well."

ITC Midwest has been active in the area since acquiring the electric transmission lines from Alliant Energy's Interstate Power & Light Co. subsidiary in December 2007. The company recently upgraded a transmission line that runs between Calmar and Ossian.
