ITC Great Plains Gives Back to Rural Oklahoma Communities
As we prepare for the Hugo-Valliant project to go into service, ITC has had a couple of unique opportunities to support communities in the project area. We recently donated a house we acquired during the project to the Forest Grove Public School in Garvin to use as a new administration building, and we provided $10,000 to the Hugo Area Chamber of Commerce to help create a better tourism experience in the Choctaw County area. Dozens of Valmont workers are involved in the $37 million project
Construction of a southeastern Oklahoma electrical transmission line kept 80 Tulsa metal workers busy this summer creating all of the support poles on the $37 million project. Valmont Industries Inc. provided fabrication and delivery of the monopoles for ITC Great Plains LLC's system. The 18-mile, 345-kilovolt transmission project is due for completion by April.
